January 20, 2021 Update – We just came across a new listing for this ’73 C3 Corvette we first featured in the middle of December. All of the pictures, description, and price remain the same.
With its unique combination of softer urethane safety front grille and rear chrome bumperettes, the 1973 C3 Corvette remains one of our favorites. This unique blue-green over tan 350/4-speed example we originally came across in December 2020 on Craigslist in Bedford, New York appears to a very good-looking example. Said to benefit from a ten-year-old frame-off restoration by a previous owner, the current caretaker has their Corvette priced at $23,500. Reseraching the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool indicates the private seller has their Corvette priced between this guide’s #3 “Good” estimate of $18,300 and its #2 “Very Good” appraisal of $23,700. As a second data point, the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms this private seller has their C3 priced two hundred less than the #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $23,700.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“Beautiful 1973 Stingray coupe sat in Blue-Green with a light saddle interior. This car has an original, numbers matching 350 small block paired with a close ratio 4 speed manual transmission. The car is mechanically sound, as well as runs and drives like a charm with a clean title in hand. It had a fresh repaint about 5 years ago in the original color. Recent cooper cobra radial tires all around. The ‘73 was the last year with the chrome rear bumper, and the first year with the fiberglass front bumper. With just over 50k miles, the car still drives very well for its age. The Vette also has a Retrosound stereo system with Bluetooth connectivity. All gauges work except for clock. Most lights work except for front right blinker, as well as the reverse lights need a new fuse. The pop-ups still work with their vacuum system. No leaks in the t tops or windows. The car has its original Rallye wheels as well and it does not go out in the rain. It’s been garage kept almost all it’s life with no frame rust. The car has a perfect birdcage as well. It had a body-off restoration done about 10 years ago by the previous owner. It has an Edelbrock chrome kit making the engine bay look great. We also have hooker headers installed making the V8 sound so much better. Please reach out with any questions on the vehicle. If the post is still up, the car is still available. Price negotiable, come by and take a look.”
