1973 Triumph Spitfire Mk IV – SOLD!
February 19, 2021 Update – we confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
January 27, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the private seller of this very nicely detailed ’73 Triumph Spitfire deleted their original listing and replaced it with a duplicate complete with the same asking price. We’ve updated the links below.
Produced from 1962 through 1980 across five updates, the Triumph Spitfire consistently served as the brand’s entry-level sports car while engineers and designers focused most of their efforts creating a series of other upmarket models. Between the gorgeous updated leather interior and the incredibly detailed engine bay of this 1973 Spitfire originally listed on Craigslist in January 2021 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, you would hardly think this car to be “entry-level.” The private seller relies on the excellent pictures provided to do the selling as their one-sentence description doesn’t detail all of the intricate work completed on this sports car. This is hands-down the nicest Triumph Spitfire we have featured to date on GuysWithRides. The only fault we can find is the seller calling their Spitfire a “1500” when the 1973 vintage versions were still “Mk IV’s.” Perhaps this car has the latter car’s bigger 1500cc engine, but you’ll need to confirm that with the seller. Currently offered at $11,000, the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool confirms the ask falls nicely between this guide’s current #2 “Very Good” estimate of $9,350 and its #1 “Excellent” appraisal of $14,000.
Here’s the seller’s brief description:
“1973 Triumph Spitfire 1500. Runs and drives as it should, please see pictures and contact me if interested.”
