Classifind Cut: 1975 AMC Hornet Sportabout – Sold?

Mar 2021 | Craigslist ClassiFINDS, Wagon Wednesday

March 17, 2021 Update – While this “Classifind” expired recently, given the seller’s past history we suspect may not actually be sold yet.  For now, we’re labeling this ride “Sold?” However, we will keep an eye out for an updated listing. In the interim, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

March 1, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the seller once again replaced the expired listing with a new one that remains firm on the $8,000 asking price.

February 2, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the seller replaced the expired listing with a new one. While he’s added some new pictures, the price remains at $8,000.

December 28th Update – Call it the Holidays effect, but this ’75 AMC Hornet we assumed sold due to its expired listing is now back on the market for $8,00 firm.

December 1st Update – We just confirmed the Craigslist ad for this ride expired and with no replacement listing found, we’re assuming this car sold.

October 20th Update – One week after listing his AMC Hornet wagon for $10,500, he’s decided already to low the price to $9,200.

“If you think the price is too high, look online.” is the private seller’s assertion of their 1975 AMC Hornet Sportabout Four-Door Station Wagon they originally listed in October 2020 on Craigslist in Fostoria, Michigan with a revised asking price of $9,200 or best offer, which is down from the original ask of $10,500.   While appearing to be a survivor-quality example featuring its original paint, the Collector Car Market Review Online Valuation Tool confirms the private seller may be looking at the wrong price online for pricing.

Here’s the seller’s description:

“Hornet Sportabout, 10500 or best offer. all original body, and paint. Runs well can drive anywhere. PS.Auto. new carpet Must see in person. if you think the price is high, Look online .2 sets of new wheels and tires. Will remove it when sold.
