Boogie Van: 1974 Dodge B100 Shorty Custom – Sold?
April 5, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
When we came across this customized 1974 Dodge B100 “Shorty” panel van currently originally listed in March 2021 on Craigslist in Deland, Florida (Daytona Beach), the paint scheme, Hooker Header side pipes, and Cragar SS five spokes had us thinking we stepped back into the late 1970s. Customized vans like this Dodge were a very common sight back in the late 1970s, however many have long since faded away. We would love to get the full story from the owner on whether this van is a nicely preserved time capsule from the peak of the custom van craze or if it in fact a modern recreation. Currently offered at $25,000, comparing this price against the Collector Car Market Review confirms this private seller has the customized van priced over double this guide’s #1 “Excellent” appraisal of $25,000. While we agree there is a premium here for the customization, the seller may have this price set a bit too optimistic. That said, we tend to get van pricing wrong consistently, especially with short wheelbase versions, so it will be interesting to see how long this one lasts.
