Classifind Cut: 1968 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon LS Swap – Sold?

by | Mar 2021 | Classifinds, Wagon Wednesday

April 27, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

While it’s easy to find Chevrolet’s now-ubiquitous modern LS motors being swapped into everything from Volvo 240s to Ford Fairmonts, it’s refreshing to come across an LS actually replacing the vintage small block motor in this 1968 Bel Air station wagonoriginally listed on Craigslist in March 2021 on Craigslist in Huntsville, Alabama for $16,500.  The Collector Car Market Review indicates the current asking price falls between this guide’s #2 “Very Good” estimate of $11,350 and its #1 “Excellent” appraisal of $18,575.

With the hard part of sourcing and swapping the powertrain out of the way, you have the option of driving this mild restomod as is or continue adding more modern touches to this vintage Chevy wagon.

Here’s the seller’s one-sentence description:

“1968 BelAir Wagon Restomod LS 6.2 swap 6-passenger, dual bench seats. Has rear cargo area and underfloor cargo pan.Engine/transmission is a “LS-swap”.Not a complete restoration. Car has some patina. Engine/transmission is a 6.2L L9/LS3 6L80E combo from a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Good driver
Interior is nice. Coy wheels. No air. Disc brakes on front. 16500.00
No Title.
DO NOT NEED HELP SELLING!!!!
