Beyond Firm: 1991 Ford Econoline Camper – SOLD!
April 12, 2021 Update – we confirmed the seller of this unique Ford Van “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
At first pass, this 1991 Ford Econoline originally listed at the end of March 2021 on Craigslist in Carlisle, New York (Albany) had us very confused. Specifically, our first question is why would you cut the back of your van off and proceed to make it a trailer camper? Why not just sleep in the van and save yourself the build aggravation? The more we studied it, however, the concept seemed to make sense. Apparently, the seller/builder’s intent was to use the van’s flatbed conversion to haul their motorcycles much more frequently than they planned to camp. While not called out in their description, the flatbed might have the ability to tilt, which if true would make it much easier to load. You’ll need to confirm that as well as any other neat modifications with the seller/builder.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1991 Econoline with a lot invested, 5-speed transmission, Spartan Locker rear-end and much much more. Price is beyond firm….Call for details“
Camp or Hauler: what would you do with this interesting Econoline? Comment below and let us know!
