Classifind Cut: 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon – SOLD!
April 20, 2021 Update – we confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
The lion share of GM’s last bastion of traditional rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame, full-size wagons tended to be in the form of either Buick Roadmasters or Oldsmobile Custom Crusiers. Pulling up in third is the somewhat rarer Chevrolet Caprice Classic Estate versions such as this 72K original mile 1995 example originally listed in April 2021 on Craigslist in Webster, New York (Rochester). Reportedly stored winters and well maintained, the seller’s current asking price is $9.500. Comparing this price against the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms this private seller has their Caprice Estate priced between this guide’s #3 “Good” estimate of $5,200 and its #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $13,700.
As the vanity plates on the Caprice we’re featuring here indicate, giving a boost in 1994 to the Caprice Wagon was a standard detuned version of the Corvette’s LT1 350 cubic inch V8 putting out 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. These engines respond to all of the modifications readily available in the aftermarket, so these wagons now enjoy a cult following as sleepers. Another bonus for what appears to be a very clean example is the absence of the faux wood paneling option.
