Sometimes you can just feel when reading a Craigslist “Classifind” when less is more. That’s the vibe we’re getting with this 1971 MGB listed last night with only two exterior pictures. Consistently warm spring weather is still six weeks away, so installing the freshly reupholstered leather seats, new carpet, and the convertible top is this perfect project to tackle in your garage why you wait for the weather to turn. If that sounds like a feasible project, you can find this MGB originally listed in April 2021 on Craigslist in Hanson, Massachusetts (south of Boston) with an asking price of $7,500. Comparing that price against the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool confirms the private seller has their ‘B priced between this guide’s #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $4,100 and its #3 “Good” appraisal of $9,000. Similarly, the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool confirms the asking price falls between this guide’s #3 “Good” estimate of $6,800 and its #2 “Very Good” appraisal of $11,500.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1971 MGB Roadster in very good condition. Has been mechanically updated: new battery, radiator, thermostat, water pump, hoses, belts, distributor/rotor, 4 brand new tires, clutch master/slave unit. Has Weber carburetor and electronic ignition. The interior needs to be finished installing. ( brand new leather interior and carpet ) Seats were professionally reupholstered. Have a brand new convertible top that needs to be installed still.
A very solid car just needs finishing touches. Don’t have the time to work on it right now. Many extra parts etc as well. Everything is with it. Clear title.
