Chevrolet produced its Task Force line of light-duty trucks for the 1955 through 1959 model years and was the first step in incorporating styling cues from the company’s passenger cars. During its run, Chevrolet introduced more car-like styling and creature comforts including dealer-installed air conditioning, a 12-volt electrical system, and the availability of power steering and brakes as factory options. Styling changes included a flatter that incorporated two spears on top, similar to the 1957 Bel Air. Stylists changed the previous script-style emblems to an oval-shaped design.
Jim, the current caretaker of this ’57 Apache, reports it received a frame-off restoration and the truck is in mint condition. It has a 235 straight-six engine mated to a floor-shift controlled manual transmission. The vehicle has traveled only 3,657 miles since the completion of its restoration.
The picture below provides the link to the complimentary LemonSquad.com Pre-Purchase Inspection (“PPI”) completed in August 2021 for this auction. Other than some imperfections noted on some of the exterior door chrome, the only fault the inspector noted was the passenger door handle having trouble working consistently.
