1960 Triumph TR3A -Sold?

by | May 2021 | Classifinds, Sports Car Saturday

June 12, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

Produced from 1955 through 1962, The Triumph TR3 has the distinction of being the company’s third best-selling car behind the TR6 and TR7 with approximately 58K units produced.  In 1957, Triumph launched a minor update referred to as the TR3A that featured a new wide front grill, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle, and came with a full tool kit standard.  We came across what appears to be a driver-quality survivor currently originally listed in May 2021 on Craiglist in Fitchburg, Massachusetts for $25,000. The Collector Car Market Review indicates the current asking price is $950 above this guide’s #2 “Very Good” estimate of $24,050.

Here’s the seller’s description:

“For Sale 1960 Triumph TR3A black with blue interior and white top. Very original car that presents nicely with authentic patina. Well maintained car that is in go anywhere condition. This car was formerly owned by long-time New England Triumphs (NET) members, from whom I purchased the car back in 2012, I am the third owner. This car was also featured in the book Illustrated Triumph Buyer’s Guide by Richard Newton. The car has documented 72,375 original miles and features the desirable overdrive transmission. Car is garaged and can be viewed in Fitchburg MA.”
