I’m Exhausted 4: 1978 Pontiac Trans Am – $2,500
“Needs Full Restoration” is what the seller states before mentioning this Trans Am does not include wheels or even a rear axle in their ad currently posted here on Craigslist in Medford, New York for $2,500. We never cease to be amazed by sellers who pitch what is at best a parts car as a restorable ride. Besides the T-Top set, we highly doubt there is much else usable anymore on this Trans Am.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“NEEDS FULL RESTORATION, I’VE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 31 YEARS. IT HAS A 428 SHORT BLOCK MATED TO A TH350. IT’S SITTING IN MY STORAGE YARD AND ITS TIME TO SELL. IT HAS T TOPS,(CLEAN TITLE) NO WHEELS, OR REAR AXEL (sic). I HAVE 2 EXTRA TRANS AM HOODS THAT ARE CLEAN. THIS IS IN A LOCKED YARD, YOU MUST CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT. (SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY)“
Too Far Gone or Good To Go: what would you do think about the possibility of restoring this Trans Am? Comment below and let us know!
Leave it alone and call it a Rat Rod.
Pontiac had a huge problem with hood rust on ‘70’s vehicles (actually rust all over on ‘70’s cars)
I had a 1973 Grand Am that had minor fender & quarter rust but the forward edge of the hood was rotted through similar to this Trans Am.
It appears, to me, to be a parts car.
