1 of 1: 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Ltd. Custom Door Edition – Sold?
July 8, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
Summertime is here. The weather is nice. You have an itch to buy a nice used 90’s vintage convertible to enjoy the weather in. A Chrysler Sebring is a nice four-seat convertible on your shortlist, however, you don’t like how the vast majority of these cars initially served duty as rental cars when new. While extremely rare, the Limited Custom Door Edition is the Sebring Convertible to buy like this Deep Amethyst example originally listed in June 2021 on Craigslist in Brooklyn, New York for $8,000 firm. That firm ask is well above the NADA Guide’s “High” retail value of $3,100, but keep in mind those values do not reflect the Limited Custom Door Edition trim.
Not familiar with the Limited Custom Door Edition? Neither were we until we read the label on the car’s hood. Apparently, the package included Lamborghini-Style doors, a fiberglass lower body kit, a Porsche GT3-Style Rear Spoiler, hood pins, and an assortment of chrome trim not found on mere rental car duty Sebrings.
In all seriousness, had the seller/customizer stopped at the gorgeous Deep Amethyst repaint and very nice two-tone leather interior, this would be a very good-looking Sebring aging well. All of the other add ons likely ruin his chances of selling it anytime soon. However, that’s just our opinion.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1997 Chrysler Sebring Custom Convertible

Deep Amethyst Pearl Exterior over Deep Amethyst Pearl & Gray Interior
Custom Paint
Lamborghini Style Doors
Front & Rear Fascia

TV in Headrests
Front and Rear Batteries installed
