Sleepy Sleeper: 1976 Chevrolet Nova 7K Mile – SOLD!
June 27, 2021 Update – we confirmed the seller of this Nova “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
Pre-1972 Chevrolet Nova two-coupes continue to see strong numbers as many Baby Boomers try to relive their high school fantasy car dreams. A very compelling alternative to those earlier higher-priced examples is this 1976 Nova currently originally listed on Craigslist in June 2021 in Painesville, Ohio (Cleveland) claimed to have only 7,112 original miles. Even more intriguing is what appears to be a Corvette L82 motor connected to a floor-shifted four-speed manual. Other than the Corvette-sourced “L82” badges placed on the front fenders, this car has sleeper written all over it with an asking price of $17,000. That ask is well above both the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool and Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool #1 condition values, so the jury remains out on whether a buyer will be willing to pay the premium for this seller.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“1976 Chevrolet Nova. 350 4bbl. 4speed. Dual exhaust. **7,112 miles.**Needs absolutely nothing. MUST SEE. Award-winning no rust ever car. Perfect interior. $17,000.00 cash”
