Rad Van: 1994 Chevrolet G20 Mark III Conversion Van – Sold?

by | Jun 2021 | Classifinds, Truckin Tuesday

July 26, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

June 30, 2021 Update – Apparently the seller received feedback on the value of your Rad Era conversion van, as they just lowered the asking price by a whopping $3,500 from $11,000 to $7,500.

An interesting trend in the 1990s for late-stage Baby Boomers was to buy conversion vans. Having grown up riding around in traditional station wagons, they wouldn’t be caught dead in a new one.  Relatively cheap gas during this period meant many Americans didn’t worry all that much about the better gas mileage a minivan might provide. Perhaps an attempt to relive their custom-van-crazed 1970s youth, many opted for conversion vans like this 1994 Chevrolet G20 Mark III currently listed here on Craigslist in Millstone, New Jersey appears to be a well-maintained example now offered at $7,500 (originally the ask was $11,000) currently. None of our usual valuation tools consider these Rad Era vans classics just yet, so you’ll have to decide whether that asking price is worth it.  We note the seller hints that “Cash talks” so there appears to be room for negotiation.

I had a neighbor who purchased a conversion van virtually identical to this one in the early 1990s. The love affair lasted less than five years when exterior rust started rearing its ugly head and they grew tired of needing snow tires for the rear-wheel-drive platform every winter. Most of these conversion vans have likely long since rusted away like my neighbor’s, so it’s refreshing to come across an example in such nice shape.

If you are serious about buying this classic conversion van, you can start the conversation by calling Alex at (973) 609-0992When you connect, please remember to mention you saw their TR-250 featured here on GuysWithRides.com. Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“Conversion van in amazing condition. Absolutely no rust. Engine and trans are 100%Van is ready to go….definitely cross country worthy. Please no low ball offers. Cash talks.

  1. Rad Van: 1994 Chevrolet G20 Mark III Conversion Van – Sold?

Nice… but I just bought the longer version same year for $800.00 in FL with 160K miles no rust just missing the running boards and the rear captains seats and a REAL nice custom fold out twin bed in place of the secondary seats…which leaves me with $6K to play with. Good luck on the high price. It will be someones dream come true. FJB
