Larry, the current caretaker of this low mileage Thunderbird, bought the car approximately ten years ago at an Estate Auction from the original owner. A driver-quality car, Larry completed a reseal of the engine and had the valvetrain updated. Additionally, Larry enlisted a friend who specializes in transmissions reseal the original three-speed manual found in this car.
Not only does this driver-quality Thunderbird come equipped with its original white convertible top, but this example is also an early ’56 build featuring a non-porthole-equipped removable hardtop.

What is the reserve price ?
Hi Kevin, as with any reserve auction, we cannot reveal what the reserve price is until it has been met. We will start the auction at Noon with an opening bid of $15,000.
Is this true mileage on vehicle or Is the mileage after rebuild of engine?
Hi Jim, our understanding from the second owner (the seller) that he believes the mileage to be actual. When he bought the Thunderbird during an Estate auction approximately ten years ago, the car was advertised as having the original powertrain.
If I’m the highest / only bidder, but reserve has not been met, now what?
If the reserve is not met at the end of the auction, we’ll work with the buyer and seller to see whether a mutual deal can be met. If that can’t be achieved, the car will move to our “Rides Still Available” page where people can make offers we present to the seller for consideration.
