Mint: 1956 Ford F-100 “Big Window” Pickup – Sold?

by | Jul 2021 | Classifinds, Truckin Tuesday

August 9, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this Ford pickup “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

For many older truck enthusiasts, Ford’s second-generation F-Series pickups produced from 1952 through 1956 remain the brand’s most iconic design and for many traditional hot rodders, it remains the truck of choice for their dream build. Within this generation, the 1956 model is the most sought-after due to its one-year-only wrap-around rear window. We just spotted this mint green and cream “big window” example originally listed in July 2021 on Craigslist in Wheeling, West Virginia where the current caretaker is asking $43,500.  Researching the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool reveals the private seller has their F-100 priced $1,500 above this guide’s #1 “Excellent” appraisal of $42,400.  Fortunately, using the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool as a second data point confirms this private seller has his Ford priced between the #2 “Excellent” appraisal of $41,800 and the #2 “Excellent” estimate of $65,700.

This the second of two examples of vintage Ford pickups we’re featuring today in which the builders/restorers eschewed the typical urge for a V8 upgrade and continued with inline-six engines instead.

Here’s the seller’s description:

“1956 big Window; 6cylx3speed. Rust Free body from Oregon, all new glass, runs good, no leaks, everything works except radio { it lights up, but no music] nice int, nice chrome and stainless. it is Rust Free !!!!

Show or go: what would you do with this restored F-100 Big Window?  Comment below and let us know!
