Cheap Custom: 1980 Toyota Corolla Shooting Brake – SOLD!
July 27, 2021 Update – we confirmed the seller of this custom Corolla “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
“Sectioning” in car culture refers to either removing or adding a length of matching body to a vehicle. The most common examples of lengthening cars are stretch limousines. Much less common is when customizers remove a complete section of the body from a car and put the remaining halves back together. This 1980 Toyota Corolla Wagon we first spotted in July 2021 on Craigslist in Perth Amboy, New Jersey falls into the latter category. Check out how the builder removed the rear door section to convert this Corolla into a custom two-door Shooting Brake. A fully hot-rodded 1.8L inline-four and custom diamond button tuck interior round out the package. Offered at only $3,800, this customized Corolla clearly falls into the you-can’t-replicate-it-for-this-price category. Comparing that price against the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool for the stock wagon confirms the seller has their Corolla creation priced between this guide’s #3 “Good” estimate of $3,250 and its #2 “Very Good” appraisal of $5,125.
Here’s the seller’s description:
“Custom 2 Door Station Wagon 1.8 Dual Side, Draft Carbs, Header, Custom Exhaust, 5 Speed, Button Tuck Interior. Too much stuff to list. ONE OF A KIND. $3800.00 Firm.”
