Twenty Months Gone: 1987 Ford F350 4×4 Pickup – Sold?
September 13, 2021 Update – While this “Classifind” expired recently, given the seller’s past history we suspect may not actually be sold yet. For now, we’re labeling this ride “Sold?” However, we will keep an eye out for an updated listing. In the interim, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
August 3, 2021 Update – The Internet and GuysWithRides.com never forget. When we came across the listing for this ’87 Ford F350 4×4, with only 21,000 original miles, we immediately recognized it from when we first featured it back in December 2019. When we found that the original ad had been pulled shortly after it was posted, we assumed the truck had sold quickly. Fast forward twenty months and imagine our surprise when saw. A new listing using the same pictures from nearly two years ago. The only difference is the five thousand dollars higher asking price that is now set to $25,000.
Most 32-year-old one-ton pickups we come across have been worked to death, so this 21K original mile bright red 1987 Ford F350 Styleside 4×4 we came across originally in December 2019 on Craigslist near Dover, Delaware is the exception. So is the asking price of $20,000. A quick check of the NADA Guides Online Classic Car Valuation Tool confirms their “Low”, “Average”, and “High” retail value range currently stands at only $1,950, $3,775, and $6,200, respectively. Perhaps the seller believes the low mileage, plow, winch, and bed boxes combined with the monster 460 cubic inch big block are worth such a premium.
We like this late eighties, low mileage time capsule because it’s in relatively great shape and makes a compelling, easy-to-work-on alternative for a gentleman farmer or small business over a brand new truck that could easily cost triple once all of the equipment is tacked on. Good luck with the purchase!
