Bill, the current caretaker of this 1936 Ford Tudor Hot Rod for the past six years, first drove the car in the early 1970s when he was only 16 years old. While his friend owned it at the time, Bill liked the car so much he vowed to one day own it. That opportunity presented itself approximately six years ago.
This 1936 may carry its black paint with a very stock appearance overall, however, you quickly learn that’s not the case once you turn the key. In the early 1970s, Bill’s friend replaced the tired flathead V8 with a 1970 Chevrolet 327 cubic inch small block V8. Controlling the V8 is a vintage 1939 Mercury three-speed transmission. While the pictures provided do not show it, the black exterior features a fine green pinstripe. Bill reports that in the mid-1960s, the interior was redone in a black vinyl diamond button tuft that has aged very well and still looks to be in excellent condition. The neatest feature of this car is how a full set of gauges is neatly tucked into the original glove box of this Tudor.
The picture below provides the link to the complimentary LemonSquad.com Pre-Purchase Inspection (“PPI”) completed in July 2021 for this auction. While the inspector did come across minor issues commensurate with his type of car, we note how he commented on how smooth the car drove during his test drive.
