2007 Shelby GT500 – Seller Keeping

Building on the wild success of the 2006 black-and-gold Shelby-Hertz GT350 rental car program, Shelby and Ford upped the performance ante for 2007 with the launch of the Shelby GT500.  A collaboration of Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (“SVT”) and Carroll Shelby, Ford produced approximately ten thousand examples annually for the 2007 through 2009 model years on the assembly line at Ford’s Flat Rock, Michigan (AutoAlliance) assembly facility.

The GT500 uses a supercharged and inter-cooled modular 5.4 L; 330 cubic inch V8 engine rated at 500 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 480 foot-pounds of torque at 4,500 rpm, which at the time were staggering performance numbers. Transferring the V8’s power was a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission, suspension tuning, a body kit, and 18-inch wheels.

The private seller and original owner of the red-over-black example featured here has used his 2007 Shelby GT500 sparingly since new and reports it has never been driven in inclement weather and the convertible top has never been lowered.

The complimentary CarFax® confirms both the low mileage and the fact this 2007 Shelby GT500 Convertible is a one-owner example.
