Our latest BaT Turn-Away auction is this custom 1971 Volkwagen Sqareback Street Machine we are proud to feature in an online reserve-style auction on behalf of the seller. Bidding opened Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Noon and continues for fourteen consecutive days ending Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time.

The customized 1971 Volkswagen Squareback currently resides in the Loveland, Colorado area.

Brent, the builder and seller of this customized 1971 Volkswagen Sqareback, provided the following description in his own words:
 
“I built this car from the ground up. It was 100% disassembled, sandblasted, completely epoxied in and out. All cavities were thoroughly waxed for corrosion protection. I shaved the door handles, installed keyless entry, custom center console, removed the post for 3rd window on quarters, and stretched the quarter windows. I shaved the rear license pocket, built a custom roll pan, shaved the front license plate mount, installed a completely new engine 1904 CC’s, dual webers, new fuel lines, new brake lines, new drums and shoes, new pads and rotors, new steering box, new steering stabilizer, new inner and outer tie rods, and bushings for the front beam and the bearings on all four corners have been replaced. The transmission got a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel resurfaced, but nothing is internally done, except change fluid. Third gear does occasionally pop out under acceleration, and I believe it is the synchro. “Black Betty” as we call her, is gorgeous and more beautiful in person. I finished her in 2015. She’s been to a couple of car shows, gets driven rarely, and I have put less than 1000 miles on her since completion. It’s time for her to go to a new home as I am off to other adventures. “
