March 4, 2022 Update – We confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

February 20, 2022 Update – The seller just reduced their asking price of this unique all Mopar street rod by four large from $36,000 to $32,000. This is a very cool ride for even the most discerning “Mopar or no Car” fan.

We love finding custom cars that stick to one brand for all of its equipment. This subtle black-over-red 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe Business Coupe originally listed in February 2022 on Craigslist in Holly Springs, Georgia (Atlanta) will satisfy even the most die-hard “Mopar or No Car” enthusiast. Hidden under the amazing gloss black paint tilting front end is a 360 cubic inch V8 supported by a Dodge Dakota front suspension. Combine that with modern touches like air conditioning and front disc brakes and you have a very subtle Mopar cruiser.

Currently offered for the you-can’t-replicate-it-for-this price of $32,000 (the original ask was $36,000), this Plymouth is a perfect example of a car that’s worth more customized. For reference, the  Collector Car Market Review Online Tool reveals the #1 “Excellent” condition for a stock example is only $14,500.

Since these post-war Plymouths aren’t worth much in stock form, they have become a favorite of the Rat Rod crowd. This video posted on the Skengz YouTube channel shows a bagged example featuring a Viper-sourced V10:

Here’s the seller’s description:

“Beautiful 1947 Plymouth Special Coupe. This car has the most beautiful black paint job and has been customized. This includes the shaving of all handles on the car. Doors open with FOBs and the trunk opens with an electric pushbutton on the dash.

The hood is electrically opened via a switch on the dash and it opens in reverse!

This coupe has approx 25k miles on it and has a Dodge 360 engine with headers and a custom exhaust system. The front half of the suspension came from a Dodge Dakota and rides like a new car!

Includes AC, heat, and 3-speed automatic transmission with the pushbutton shifter, tilt steering, power steering, disc brakes in front, new tires, new coil, new beauty rings, and new E3 spark plugs! A beautiful red interior that sets the black paint off!

All matching gauges that work including speedometer and tachometer! Beautiful dash arrangement. Horn works, all outside and inside lights work including brake lights and turn signals!

I was told that this build cost $68,000 and I think that it was completed approx 8 to 12 years ago…Low mileage!
Whoever built it, did a wonderful job and did not cut any corners. This car drives out extremely well. It starts well, idles like it should and the custom exhaust sounds so good!

If you’re looking for a very unique car…one that you will not find a match anywhere, then this is your car!

If you come and drive this car…you will want it!

I have 4 or 5 other vehicles that I am looking at so I am willing to quick sell this coupe for $36,000 (It is worth a lot more)

Danny”
