I had a 1967 Pontiac Firebird with the same hood mounted tach!
LOL, although they looked similar, the one we used was from an AMC Rebel Machine!
I remember those showing up on pontiacs in 68, so cool at the time. I heard they were a dealer installed option in 67.
If I remember correctly Pontiac hood tachs had the Pontiac name on the face.
You remember correctly, however, ALL companies who offered a hood tach had their brand pad printed on the dial face. We skillfully blanked the logo out of this image used for the contest as that would have been a dead give-away.
AMC for the win…
Well played!
