This Corvette is one of our “Reasonable Rides” which means the seller agreed to a reserve price of less than $10,000.

This 1993 Corvette Coupe currently resides in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Chevrolet launched the completely redesigned C4 Corvette for the 1984 model year.  In 1986, Chevrolet doubled the model range with the introduction of a Convertible version, the first since 1975.  For 1987, changes to the Chevrolet C4 Corvette were subtle. Chevy’s L98 V-8 engine continued to displace 350 cubic inches but now used roller rockers, raising output to 240 horsepower. Power still went to the rear wheels through the Doug Nash “4+3” manual transmission, with overdrive for the top three gears.

By 1993, Chevrolet engineers upgraded the manual transmission to a ZF-sourced six-speed manual.  In 1991, GM created a new-generation small-block engine called the “LT1 350”, distinct from the high-output Generation I LT-1 of the 1970s. It displaced 5.7 L (350 cubic inches) and was a 2-valve pushrod design. The LT1 used a reverse-flow cooling system which cooled the cylinder heads first, maintaining lower combustion chamber temperatures and allowing the engine to run at a higher compression than its immediate predecessors.  In Corvette form, LT1s were factory rated at 300 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque.

We’re offering this 1993 Corvette Coupe as a “Mechanic’s Special” as it has been sitting idle for some time and is in need of a thorough detail and likely some mechanical and electrical sorting.

Guys With Rides contracted with Lemon Squad to conduct a thorough Pre-Purchase Inspection (“PPI”) on this Corvette. Unfortunately, despite the seller reporting their Corvette benefits from a three-week-old battery, the Corvette would not start when the inspector arrived and is noted in the inspector’s report.

The seller was able to provide this start-up and walk-around video of their 1993 Corvette taken on May 19, 2022, confirming the car starts and runs following a charge. It’s unclear whether this Corvette suffers from a power drain or whether the new battery was just run down, so that’s why we’re calling this C4 a mechanic’s special:
