Bidding opened Wednesday, March 2, 2022, and will run for fourteen (14) consecutive days ending at 7:00 PM Eastern time on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

This Corvette currently resides in the Chicago suburbs just minutes from O’Hare International Airport.

Chevrolet launched the completely redesigned C4 Corvette for the 1984 model year.  In 1986, Chevrolet doubled the model range with the introduction of a Convertible version, the first since 1975.  For 1987, changes to the Chevrolet C4 Corvette were subtle. Chevy’s L98 V-8 engine continued to displace 350 cubic inches but now used roller rockers, raising output to 240 horsepower. Power still went to the rear wheels through the Doug Nash “4+3” manual transmission, with overdrive for the top three gears. When Chevrolet launched Corvette in 1953, the company could only pull together three hundred units, all of which came in Polo White with a red interior.

This 22,422 original mile white over bright red leather 1987 Corvette Convertible pays homage to that original color combination.  The current seller came across this 1987 Corvette over the winter for sale by the second owner. The car features all of its documents since new that include the sale agreement showing this Corvette’s purchase price of $33K in the fall of 1986.  While this Corvette features minor bumps and bruises consistent with a 35-year-old car, with such low mileage and great documentation, a new owner with a penchant for detailing could have a serious candidate to win a National Corvette Restorers Society (“NCRS”) Top Flight Award® if they so chose.  We also note this ’87 Corvette is RADWood Event eligible.

As the pictures and video indicate, this C4 Corvette presents and drives in excellent condition with only a few blemishes to speak of. The bright red interior presents in excellent condition and we observed the digital dash displays brightly.
