When you have a crowded market for a certain type of car, it helps to have some distinguishing features to set your car apart from the crowd. When it comes to the classic Honda S2000 roadster, there are plenty of poorly modified examples to choose from, but far fewer preserved specimens are available with low miles and at a decent price point. This 2000 Honda S2000 shows just over 34,000 miles and is loaded with factory options and some limited OEM-plus enhancements, with an asking price of $39,500. The S2000 is listed here on Craigslist in Rockville, Maryland, by the original owner with very few if any, major faults. Comparing the asking price against the Classic.com model page for the S2K shows us that the average selling price is just shy of $30,000, with a recent high sale of $35,000. If you are serious about buying this fast-appreciating roadster, you can start the conversation by emailing the seller here. When you connect, please remember to mention you saw their S2000 featured here on GuysWithRides.com.
There’s little doubt the Honda S2000 will be a highly collectible car for years to come. When you combine scorching performance with impeccable reliability and low cost of ownership – all wrapped up in a sexy two-door convertible body – well, you’ve got a pretty reliable formula for success. The S2000 is also still reasonably affordable considering how slick the factory packaging is, as few cars can deliver this level of performance and reliability for $30,000. The sad thing is that when cars are within reach of most enthusiasts, it’s almost inevitable that poor modifications are not far behind. Some S2000s are truly built cars with the right enhancements to transform them into track day warriors, but most collectors want a specimen that is still as it left the factory. If you really want to get top dollar, keep an S2000 or other limited-production sports car like this as close to stock as possible while adding all available factory options that are likely near-impossible to find today. The seller’s car is loaded up with perhaps the most desirable OEM upgrade outside of a Comptech supercharger, which is the front and rear spoilers.

Now, the factory options list for an S2000 isn’t exactly long, but it’s nice to find a car that was clearly spec’d out to the max by the original owner. As mentioned, it has the desirable chin spoiler and rear lip spoiler on the trunk. I had a friend with a Suzuka Blue S2000 and he waited for months for the chin spoiler to show up at the Honda dealer; I can’t imagine it’s gotten any easier to find. The seller notes his car sports the optional black chrome emblems, side strakes, six-disc CD changer, titanium shift knob, and even door edge guards. Now, there aren’t Earth-shattering enhancements, but there’s something inherently appealing about a car that sports all the OEM goodies. The only “aftermarket” adjustments are likely the only Honda-approved components you can add without violating the warranty, which are some upgraded sway bars made by Comptech. The cosmetics are outstanding and the interior shows virtually no wear-and-tear. Overall, S2000s will likely never be cheaper than they are now, and this one will almost certainly hold its value for the long-term.

Never cheaper: Do you think S2000s will ever go down in price, or is this as cheap as it’s going to get for a bone-stock example?
