1972 Ford Country Squire 4×4 Wagon – Sold?
September 28, 2022, Update – While this “Classifind” expired recently, given the seller’s past history we suspect may not actually be sold yet. For now, we’re labeling this ride “Sold?” However, we will keep an eye out for an updated listing. In the interim, please reach out either by email or call Rudy directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.
August 3, 2022 Update – The Internet and GuysWithRides.com never forget an interesting ride. When we last came across this 4×4 1972 Ford LTD station wagon, the first seller was located in southern California. Fast forward nearly one year later, and we discovered the same customized wagon now for sale in Indiana with a $15,000 asking price.
October 19, 2021 Update – We confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” changed their Craiglist ad to feature another car to save five bucks, so we’re now able to call this one “SOLD!”
October 9, 2021 Update – After a three-month pause following the expiration of their last California-Craigslist-based post, oddly enough we came across a new listing for this 4×4 Ford LTD wagon on the Chicago area page. Based on the use of the same pictures and description combined with the car still being located in California, the same seller is still trying to sell this unique ride. This time, however, the seller elected to raise his asking price from $15,500 to $17,999. Raising your asking price never seems to be a good strategy, so we’ll keep an eye on how this goes.
August 17, 2021 Update – We just confirmed the listing for this “Classifind” expired, so with no replacement found we’re assuming this ride “Sold?” unless we come across something similar.
July 11, 2021 Update – We just spotted an updated listing for this unusual Country Squire restomod. The pictures, description, and asking price all remain the same.
If you ever wanted to merge a vintage full-size station wagon on a dualie truck chassis, the work has already been done if you decide to buy this 1972 Ford “Super Wagon” originally listed in July 2021 in San Luis Obispo, California and then listed by another seller in Highland, Indiana. An amalgam of Malaise-Era Ford Country Squire set atop a mid-1960s F250 Dually Camper Special Truck Frame appears to be a quality built example offered for a you-can’t-replicate-it-for-this-price of $15,500. To put things in perspective, comparing that asking price against the values for a stock example in the Collector Car Market Review Online Tool confirms the seller’s ask falls between this guide’s #2 “Very Good” estimate of $11,900 and its #1 “Excellent” appraisal of $19,000.
The seller provides a great summary of their unique ride that we really can’t say anything other than we would love to have this Country Squire added to our fantasy garage.
