After learning how to drive on a similar example, the seller came across this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE at an auction seventeen years ago and decide to buy it then. He has kept the car in usable condition ever since.

A California car all of its life, this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE sedan currently resides in Van Nuys, California.

The Deets

High Bid: $600

The Mercedes-Benz 280SE was a variant of the W108/W109 S-Class introduced for the 1968 model year. The 280 SE was built on the shorter W108 chassis and was powered by Mercedes’ M130 engine. This fuel-injected 2.8L inline-six powerplant generated 138 horsepower that was sent to the rear wheels via either a standard 4-speed manual or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. Production of the W108/W109 280SE lasted until 1972, with a total of 91,051 examples built.
