January 5, 2023 Update – We’re pleased to report a buyer stepped up for this very special LS3-Swapped Mazda Miata we originally tried to auction in June. Congrats to both the buyer and the seller for coming to a mutual agreement on a very cool ride!
June 29, 2022 Update – The high bid of $16,000 did not meet the seller’s reserve price of $35,000 so we’ve moved this 1997 Mazda Miata to our “Rides Still Available” Page. Once registered and logged in, select the green “Buy Now” option to agree to pay the “Buy Now” price of $35,000 or enter a reasonable counter-offer in the “Bid Directly” Box that we can present to the seller.

Perfect Build! What did she dyno at (RWHP)? Also approx. O-6O mph time? Thanks!
This Miata has not been dyno’d. Chevrolet’s literature indicates that their 6.2L LS3 crate motor pumps out 430 horsepower at 5900 RPM and 425 pounds-feet of torque at 4,600 RPM (https://www.chevrolet.com/performance-parts/crate-engines/ls/ls3). Knowing the weight of the LS3 adds about 170 pounds over the original Mazda inline-four, which combined with other chassis upgrades suggests this Miata now weighs between 2,600 and 2,700 pounds. That gives this Miata an estimated Power-to-Weight Ratio of 0.16. That technically provides a better power-to-weight ratio than a 1965 427 Cobra. That hints this Miata is capable of 12-second quarter miles and four second 0-60 times.
