This 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition #70 is part of the original owner’s collection located on the east end of Long Island, New York.

Chevrolet offered the sixth-generation Corvette, known among enthusiasts as the C6, for the 2005 through 2013 model years.  While the C6 continued to feature a front mid-engine, rear transaxle layout, it was the first Corvette since 1962 not to feature pop-up headlights.  Production variants beyond the base model coupe and convertible included the Z06, ZR1, Grand Sport, and 427 Convertible.

In the summer of 2010, Chevrolet offered a limited edition version of the 505 horsepower Z06 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Corvette first competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1960. Chevrolet positioned the Carbon Edition between the regular track-focused Z06 and the King-of-the-Hill ZR1.  The Carbon Edition Z06 borrowed many parts from the ZR1, namely that car’s 15-inch carbon-ceramic brakes, driver-adjustable magnetorheological shocks, black 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, and Michelin Pilot PS2 rubber. Special Edition Z06s featured a carbon-patterned engine cover, black headlight surrounds, black door mirrors, carbon-fiber ZR1 rocker extensions, a carbon-fiber ZR1 front splitter, and numbered door decals. Carbon Edition Z06 Corvettes featured a raised carbon-fiber hood like the ZR1’s but without the plastic window revealing the engine bay. This special edition C6 Z06 Corvette features a carbon roof panel and a body color, full-width rear spoiler.

Originally planning to produce 500, Chevrolet manufactured only 252 examples in three colors. The lone all-black example went to Rick Hendrick’s extensive Corvette collection, while only 85 came in the stunning Inferno Orange hue. The remaining 166 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Editions came in a more subdued Supersonic Blue.

The seller of this 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition #70 is the original owner, who originally found the car available at a dealer in Minnesota.  The seller struck a deal, sight unseen, and had the car shipped to his home on eastern Long Island.  Here are copies of the production order sheet and Monroney label (i.e., “Window Sticker), both of which will be included with the sale:

The seller reports he has been the sole owner of the car since taking delivery in September 2011 and that his 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition has never been modified nor been on a race track.  The sale of the Corvette includes the following:

• The framed documentation above and the delivery items in the gallery at the bottom of this listing are framed.
• Two original key fobs.
• The foam carbon brake rotor protectors are fitted when removing a wheel.  They appear unused and in their original bag.
• A battery tender placed in the driver’s side rear luggage area storage box.
• A fitted car cover.
• The unused Euro-style Door Numbers in the original box supplied with the car at delivery.

Unfortunately, as we were photographing this Corvette, the dashboard cluster stopped functioning, a common problem with these cars.  On March 16, 2023, the seller had the dashboard replaced at his local Chevrolet dealer. The seller’s last picture of the car’s odometer was from July 2020, when the car had 8,314 miles on the odometer.  On Labor Day weekend, 2022, the seller drove this Z06 to the 70th Anniversary Corvette festival held at the famed Limerock racetrack.  Taking the Port Jefferson to Bridgewater ferry to avoid New York City traffic and roads, the round trip was 180 miles. After that trip, the seller stored the car for the winter, adding only a few local miles. From that documentation, the dealer (located just four miles from the seller’s home) agreed to program the replacement instrument cluster to 8,500 miles.  While at the Chevrolet dealership that week, the technician replaced a shorted dashboard, programmed the mileage to 8,500, completed an oil change, and conducted a thorough New York State inspection.

This 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition needs nothing other than a new caretaker to enjoy the performance of this limited edition Z06. Here is a copy of the receipt for the work completed on March 16, 2023:
