If there’s one truck that downright scares us, it’s the V-10 powered Dodge Ram SRT-10 pickups produced by Chrysler for the 2004, 2005, and 2006 model years only. Featuring a 500 horsepower version of the 8.3 Liter V10 plucked from the Dodge Viper sports car, these trucks are a very powerful yet rare site.  Even rarer is coming across one of the special editions Dodge produced during their three-year production run.  One such edition was the “Yellow Fever” edition offered only during the 2005 model year.  Originally limited to no more than five hundred units, Dodge ended up producing only 497 examples and of these, only two hundred were made in the more desirable two-door body style.

We spotted this 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Yellow Edition number 99 for sale on Craigslist in May 2023 in Camp Verde, Arizona.  Despite having less than five thousand original miles, this Viper-powered truck sports an elaborate Nitrous Oxide system the seller reports has never been used.  Given the rarity of this truck, we would return everything back to its factory-fresh condition rather than risk blowing up this truck’s original motor with too much laughing gas.

Currently offered for $34,500, Classic.com, the analytics and search engine for the collector car market, confirms the ask is at the high end of the one-year rolling average of this guide’s summary for Dodge Ram SRT-10 pickup produced between 2004 and 2006.  By clicking on the green dots in the graph below, you can navigate to each comparable car sold as a way to help you evaluate the price of the truck featured here:

It was powered by an 8.3-liter V10 engine that produced an impressive 500 horsepower and 525 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the most powerful pickups of its time. The engine was mated to a six-speed manual transmission, which allowed for lightning-fast gear changes and impressive acceleration. The SRT10 pickup could go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and had a top speed of 154 mph, making it a true sports car in pickup truck form.

The 2005 Dodge SRT10 pickup featured a sporty and aggressive exterior design that was sure to turn heads. It was available in two different body styles: a regular cab and a quad cab. Both body styles had a unique hood scoop that provided additional cooling to the powerful V10 engine. The quad cab version had a longer wheelbase, allowing for more interior space and a larger cargo bed. The SRT10 pickup also came with 22-inch wheels and performance tires, which gave it a low, aggressive stance and excellent handling capabilities.

Inside, the 2005 Dodge SRT10 pickup had a well-designed and comfortable interior that was similar to other high-end Dodge trucks. Painted in Solar Yellow exterior paint with a black “fanged” stripe on top of the hood, came with a two-tone interior that featured a yellow center stack bezel, yellow door spears, yellow stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and Regular Cab manual transmission shifter and yellow embroidering on the SRT-10 floor mats. The package also featured special Yellow Fever Edition badges and a serialized Yellow Fever dash plaque.

Given the rarity of this 2005 Dodge SRT-10 Yellow Fever Edition for sale, we’re disappointed the seller elected to modify it rather the leave it completely original.  In stock form, these Viper-Powered truck is a handful, so we’re not sure why someone would go through the time and expense to add a Nitrous system for even more power that can’t be transferred easily into speed.  Perhaps the seller quickly realized that fact, and that’s why the elaborate system that takes up most of the bed space remains disconnected.

If you are serious about buying this Ram SRT-10, you can start the conversation by contacting the seller using the information in the Craigslist ad.  When you connect, please remember to mention you saw their Viper-powered pickup featured here on GuysWithRides.com. Good luck with the purchase!

Here’s the seller’s description:

“I’m selling my 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 “YELLOW FEVER” with the Viper V-10 (500 HP) and 6-speed manual transmission. It has less than 4650 miles. This is a very rare car. Only 500 “Yellow Fevers” were manufactured, and only 200 2-door versions. This particular truck was a show truck that won several trophies and was on the cover of Truck magazine in 2006. A Nitrous system was plumbed but never made operational. The truck runs great and is basically a new truck. It has many extras, headers, shifter, air filter, etc. I believe I have all of the original parts. Please contact me with any questions.
