February 20, 2024, Update – We confirmed the seller of this “ClassiFIND” deleted their listing, so we can now call this one “SOLD!” While this one got away, please reach out either by email or call us directly if you’d like to be informed when we come across something similar.

February 6, 2024 Update – Not only did the seller replace their two week old Craigslist ad, but they also lowered their asking price from $9,850 to $8,950.  We will be shocked if this truck lasts for sale very much longer at that price.

January 26, 2024 Update – A single cab, six-cylinder, 5-Speed manual full-size, two-wheel-drive truck with only 74K original miles and an asking price less than ten thousand dollars. We’re floored this truck did not sell in a matter of hours, yet here we are two months later and the truck remains available.  It’s likely a reflection of the economy.

January 20, 2024 Update – The seller replaced the second Craigslist ad we are aware of with a fresh listing.  The description, pictures, and asking price all remain the same. Perhaps its the five-speed manual transmission, but candidly we’re shocked this truck remains unsold after nearly one month on the market.

January 1, 2024 Update – Typically, when a seller deletes their Craigslist ad, that’s a sign they sold their ride.  That’s what we assumed when the seller of this clean 76K 1990 GMC Wideside pickup deleted their listing just one week after posting during Thanksgiving week.  Fast forward to New Year’s Day, and the seller relisted their Granpa’s truck for $9,850, which is one hundred less than where they started in November.

November 27, 2023, Update – We confirmed the seller of this “Classifind” deleted their listing barely one week after posting, so we can now call this one “SOLD!” unless the seller posts a replacement listing.

Have you tried to buy a pickup truck lately? If you want a four-door, short-bed version loaded to the hilt at a price nearing six figures, dealer’s lots are filled with them.  However, if you want a plain-Jane, single-cab pickup as an everyday work truck, good luck finding one. If you do, you’ll pay close to $40,000 for the most basic two-wheel-drive, single-cab examples. With new car loans hovering around eight percent, you’re looking at an eight hundred per month loan payment depending on how much you can put down and if you can keep the term to five years.

This White 1990 GMC C1500 Sierra Wideside pickup for sale, first spotted in November 2023 on Craigslist in Reno, Nevada, makes a compelling alternative to buying new.  This Sierra appears to be an immaculate example with only 76K original and one owner miles.  This GMC Wideside for sale features factory air conditioning. We believe it has the standard 4.3 Liter Vortec V6 mated to a floor-shifted five-speed manual, a rare combination.

Last offered for $8,950 (the original ask was $9,950),, the analytics and search engine for the collector car market, confirms the ask aligns with this guide’s rolling twelve-month range of actual selling prices achieved at auction. By clicking on the green dots in the graph below, you can get a sense of what comparable examples sold for recently:

As a second data point, the  Collector Car Market Review Online Tool reveals the seller’s ask falls between this guide’s #4 “Fair” (Daily Driver) estimate of $5,700 and its #3 “Good” appraisal of $11,200 before factoring in powertrain and convenience option pricing adjustments.  At this price, we predict this GMC Sierra pickup for sale will be sold within one week.

The 1990 GMC Sierra pickup truck stands as a testament to the durability, power, and style that defined an era of American automotive manufacturing. As part of the General Motors family, the Sierra represented GMC’s commitment to producing robust trucks that could handle a variety of tasks, from daily commuting to heavy-duty hauling.

Visually, the 1990 Sierra boasted a classic and rugged design that embodied the essence of a no-nonsense workhorse. Its squared-off body lines, bold front grille, and distinctive rectangular headlights contributed to a strong and assertive presence on the road. The Sierra was available in various body styles, including regular and extended cabs, allowing consumers to choose a configuration that suited their specific needs. The exterior options included bed lengths ranging from short to long, providing flexibility for both personal and commercial applications.

Under the hood, the 1990 Sierra offered a range of powerful engine options, emphasizing performance and reliability. The base engine was a robust 4.3-liter V6, while drivers seeking more power could opt for V8 engines, including the 5.0-liter, 5.7-liter, and 7.4-liter variants. These engines were renowned for their durability and towing capabilities, making the Sierra a popular choice among those who needed a truck that could handle demanding tasks.

The interior of the 1990 Sierra reflected a blend of comfort and functionality. The spacious cabin accommodated passengers with ample legroom and well-designed seating. Depending on the trim level, the truck featured a range of amenities, from basic conveniences to more luxurious options. Air conditioning, power windows, and a quality sound system were available to enhance the driving experience. The dashboard layout was straightforward, with easily accessible controls, contributing to the Sierra’s user-friendly design.

The 1990 Sierra was not merely a workhorse but also a trailblazer in terms of safety features for its time. Anti-lock brakes, gaining popularity in the early ’90s, were available, enhancing the truck’s braking performance and overall safety. Dual-front airbags were not yet standard across all models, but they became increasingly common as the industry recognized the importance of occupant safety.

In terms of performance, the 1990 Sierra demonstrated a commitment to versatility. Whether navigating urban streets or tackling rugged off-road terrain, the Sierra provided a smooth and controlled ride. The suspension system was tuned to balance comfort and handling, making it equally suitable for long highway drives and more demanding off-road adventures.

The 1990 GMC Sierra pickup truck was not just a vehicle; it was a symbol of American automotive ingenuity and a reliable companion for those who needed a truck that could handle the demands of daily life and work. Its enduring design, powerful engine options, and commitment to safety made it a standout choice in the competitive pickup truck market of its time. Decades later, enthusiasts and collectors still appreciate the 1990 Sierra for its timeless appeal and the role it played in shaping the legacy of GMC trucks.

The 513Official4 YouTube Channel features this 1990 GMC Sierra TV commercial:

With only 76K original, one owner miles on this 1990 GMC Sierra pickup for sale, there’s a strong chance that at just under ten large, someone will buy this 33-year-old new truck to use as a daily driver rather than someone who would want to show it as a preservation class survivor show truck.  The biggest question for us is whether this truck has the standard 4.3L Vortec V6 or does this truck feature an optional V8. We tend to think its the former, but perhaps one of our readers can verify based on the pictures provided.
